Write Your Resume Like You Mean It:
The Power of Action Verbs

Marcia Hancock, MPA

Action verbs give a resume strength and power, and are the means to grab and hold the reader’s attention. Your choice of words as action verbs speak to your values, and showcase your skills, knowledge and experience.

How and where action verbs are used reflects the writer’s accomplishments and commitment to the job. Action verbs indicate ownership, and convey the depth of the writer’s successes.

In this interactive workshop, we will explore together the strategic use of action verbs: the how, where, when and why.
